Meeting the Moment with Integrity and Aloha

Margaret Mejia started her first business in 1988 when she was in her twenties. She then went on to study journalism and graduated with honors at Leeward Community College. MEJIA has been involved in the political arena for 29 years. She was offered many jobs and positions, but she declined because her heart was to be available to represent the people of Hawai’i at Legislative Hearings. Serving at Hawai’i Christian Coalition since 1997, has given MEJIA excellent experience at the Hawai’i State Capitol. She has continually been a voice for the people, year after year at Legislative Hearings, in the Churches, in her community, and on the Neighbor Islands. MEJIA has fought to maintain our constitutional rights, medical freedoms, parental rights, and religious rights. She also teaches about our American History, our Founding Fathers, and our Founding Documents: the U.S. Constitution, as well as the Declaration of Independence. Education One of MEJIA’s passions is for our keiki to receive a good quality education. This does not come as a surprise since MEJIA comes from a background of educators. Her dad taught in the public school system for 38 years and has a Master’s Degree in School Administration. After he retired, Mejia’s Dad taught summer school at Mililani High School and was well-loved among the students. Mejia’s Mom has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Master’s Degree in Language & Communication. She taught Early Education for a few years and then became the Department Chair of Early Childhood Education at a community college. Mejia’s Mom also consulted for Head Start and became the project manager for an educational foundation that helps ESL (English as a Second Language) students. One of Mejia’s five brothers taught at a community college. Another brother was the principal for an elementary school and three of her brothers taught in public schools. Mejia’s sister is currently teaching at a public school. Since MEJIA started her first business in 1988, her other passion is to keep Hawai’i business friendly. Please attend one of Mejia’s Meet & Greets to get to know her better. Mahalo for your support!
